Castrol India soared 11.03% to Rs 280.35 and topped gainers in BSE's ‘A’ group shares. The scrip rallied after the company reported decent Q2 June 2007 results.

Castrol’s net profit rose 31.05% to Rs 65.93 crore in Q2 June 2007 over Q2 June 2006. Sales rose 13.26% to Rs 540.05 crore in Q2 June 2007 over Q2 June 2006. The company declared Q2 result during market hours today, 24 July 2007.

Reliance Energy spurted 8.46% to Rs 775.30 and stood second among top gainers in ‘A’ group. The scrip moved up on reports that the company is in talks with commodity exchanges, the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) and the National Commodity Derivatives Exchange (NCDEX), to pick up equity stake in two power exchanges proposed to be set up by them.

Dena Bank jumped 6.88% to Rs 59.80 and came third among top gainers in ‘A’ group. The bank will declare Q1 June 2007 results on 26 July 2007.

Jindal Stainless rose 5.87% to Rs 164.05 and stood fourth among top gainers in ‘A’ group. The scrip has appreciated almost 8% over the past two days after it declared its Q1 June 2007 results during trading hours.

Jindal Stainless’ net profit rose 62.6% to Rs 82.60 crore in Q1 June 2007 over Q1 June 2006. Sales moved up 40% to Rs 1196.82 crore in Q1 June 2007 over Q1 June 2006. Its exports grew by 56% while domestic sales went up by 32% during the quarter.

Welspun Gujarat Stahl Rohren gained 5.54% to Rs 262 and came fifth among top gainers in ‘A’ group. Its net profit jumped 163.50% to Rs 69.30 crore in Q1 June 2007 over Q1 June 2006. Sales rose 50.50% to Rs 806.70 crore in Q1 June 2007 over Q1 June 2006. The company announced Q1 results on 19 July 2007.
