Market ended flat, Sensex up 30 pts, Nifty down 5 pts

Market ended flat amid volatile trade. Sensex was up 30 points at 15263; sheds nearly 175 points from days high. Nifty was down 5 points at 4440; sheds nearly 60 points from days high. CNX Midcap & BSE Small-cap indices ended marginally in green. BSE Realty index was down by 2.4% while BSE Metal index was down by 0.88%. BSE Bank index was up by 1.7% while BSE FMCG index was up by 0.81%. Aluminium stocks were seen down. Major losers were Nalco, down by 9.6% and Hindalco, down by 4.5%. In Cement stocks, ACC was up by 3%, Grasim was up by 2.5% while Ambuja Cement was up by 2.5%.

Index Losers were Suzlon, down by 4.4%, M&M, down by 3.5% and ITC, down by 3.1%. Index Gianers were HUL, up by 6.4% and SBI, up by 5.1%. NSE Advance Decline ratio stood at 5:6. Total market turnover stood at Rs 60551.11 crore vs Rs 87825.48 crore on Friday. The rupee appreciated by 2 bps at 40.51.

F&O Snapshot
Banking and Cement goods stocks lead gains. Power stocks like REL, JP Hydro were active in FNO market. Fresh shorts were seen in realty sector (GMR, Unitech) & Auto (M&M, TVS). Metal stocks like Nalco, Hindalco took beating on account of bad result. HUL was the stock of the day on buyback price announcement.

HDIL was down by 1%; add 7 lakh shares in OI (was up 5% during the day)

Nalco was down by 8.8%; added 3.4 lakh shares in OI
Hindalco was down by 4.5%; added 6.6 lakh shares in OI

ITC was down by 2.4%; added 10.3 lakh shares in OI
M&M was down by 2.4%; added 3.8 lakh shares in OI
TVS Motor was down by 2%; added 1.35 lakh shares in OI

Kesoram was up by 3.8%; added 1.2 lakh shares in OI

Indian Bank was up by 3.8%; cuts 1 lakh shares in OI
Andhra Bank was up by 4.6%; shed 69000 shares in OI
Allahabad Bank was up by 1.1%; add 2.6 lakh shares in OI
