Asian markets slipp into the red early Wednesday on Wall Street's decline

The Asian markets slipped into red early Wednesday due to decline in Wall Street. All the major Asian markets saw a downward trend. The Nikkei 225 index declined 1.1% to 17,061.31 and the broader Topix index fell 1.2% to 1,686.01.

Australia's S&P/ASX 200 fell as much as 1.5% to 6,054.40, New Zealand's NZX 50 slipped 0.8% to 4,180.43, while South Korea's Kospi dropped 1.8% to 1,898.41. Singapore's Straits Times slipped 1.30%( 45.99 points) to 3,501.67 while Taiwan Weighted slipped 0.38%( 34.84 points) to 9,252.41. Shanghai Composite was up though by 0.37% (16.322 points) to 4,487.354.

On Wall Street, the Dow Jones Industrial Average closed 146.3 points lower at 13,212 while the S&P 500 fell 18.64 points to 1,455.27 and the Nasdaq 100 dropped 37.01 points to 2,546.27.
