Sensex up nearly 420 points on short covering

Markets on Monday surge in late trade in back of short covering and positive global cues. Sensex up nearly 420 points at 14844, Nifty up 112 points at 4302. CNX Midcap Index up 3.15, BSE Small-cap Index up 2.7%. All BSE Sectoral Indices end in the green, led by banking stocks.

BSE Realty Index up 5.5%, BSE Bank Index up 4.7%, BSE Cap Goods Index up 3.7%. NSE Advance Decline ratio at 7:1

Total market turnover at Rs 61764 crore (Prov) vs. Rs 55072.23 crore on Friday

New Listing: Take Solutions closes at Rs 927.8 Vs listing price of Rs 901 (Issue Price Of Rs 730)

Currency movement
