Asia rises for second day running

Asian stocks rose today for a second day, responding to a higher close on Wall Street, with Japanese shares advancing on financials such as Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group and exporters such as Nissan Motor Co. Japan's Nikkei was up 0.08% or 13.68 points at 16,395.22.
Hong Kong's Hang Seng surged 0.40% or 101.56 points at 25,656.20. Taiwan's Taiwan Weighted gained 1.42% or 126.35 points at 9,052.73. Singapore's Straits Times was down 0.28% or 9.99 points at 3,584.37. South Korea's Seoul Composite was flat at 1,903.29.
