Asian indices rally on positive news from Wall Street

Asia Indices gained today after US stocks rallied overnight, with Japanese indices lifted by metals-stocks such as Sumitomo Metal Mining, and exporters such as Canon Inc.
Japan's Nikkei rose 1.13% or 179.26 points at 16,000.45. Hong Kong's Hang Seng surged 1.07% or 261.38 points at 24,798.40. Taiwan's Taiwan Weighted advanced 0.57% or 50.88 ppoints at 8,978.30. Singapore's Straits Times was up 1.26% or 44.06 points at 3,548.46. South Korea's Seoul Composite climbed 1.06% or 19.63 points at 1,867.65.
