Hinduja TMT leads gainers in 'A' group

Nicholas Piramal, TVS Motor Company, Tata Elxsi and Chambal Fertilisers & Chemicals are among the other gainers.

Mid-sized IT firm Hinduja TMT moved up 10.30% to Rs 395.05 and it topped the gainers in BSE’s A group shares.
India’s sixth largest drug-maker by sales Nicholas Piramal jumped 7.83% to Rs 270. It was the second biggest gainer in A group. Its board has approved spinning off its novel drug discovery research operations into a separate company as part of restructuring its research activities. The company’s shareholders will get one share in the new company for every 10 held. Nicholas will initially invest Rs 4.55 crore in the new company.
India's third largest motorbike maker by sales TVS Motor Company climbed up 7.79% to Rs 65.75 and came third among top gainers in A group. The company has entered into the three-wheeler segment and unveiled six other vehicles, including an electric scooter. The products will be launched in a phased manner between October - November 2007. The prices will be announced at the time of the launch, report suggests.
Small-cap engineering software and design services firm Tata Elxsi spurted 6.94% to Rs 313.40 and came fourth among top gainers in A group.
India's fifth largest fertiliser firm by sales Chambal Fertilisers & Chemicals rose 6.75% to Rs 49.85. It was the fifth biggest gainer in A group.
