Tata Steel leads gainers in 'A' group

World’s sixth largest steel maker Tata Steel soared 8.03% to Rs 988.90, on the eve of its Q2 September 2007 results. It topped gainers in the BSE’s A group shares. Tata Steel will declare Q2 September 2007 results on 26 October 2007.

Cables maker Finolex Cables spurted 7.93% to Rs 74.20 and came second among top gainers in A group. Earlier on 23 October 2007, the company said its board approved an expansion of capacity to 30 million compact fluorescent lamp (CFLs) per year at an additional expenditure of Rs 30 crore.

Paints & varnishing maker Asian Paints moved up 7.42% to Rs 1080.25. It was the third biggest gainer in A group.

Software firm Rolta India flared up 7.13% to Rs 696.70 and stood fourth among top gainers in A group.

Engineering turnkey service provider Engineers India rose 6.18% to Rs 605.30. It was the fifth biggest gainer in A group. It will declare Q2 September 2007 results on 30 October 2007.
