BSE Consumer Durables index closes at all-time high

It hit a high of 4,261.51, which is a lifetime high for the index, during the day.
The constituents taking the index up were Titan Industries (up 3.92% to Rs 1329.40), Rajesh Exports (up 0.13% to Rs 525.85), Gitanjali Gems (up 0.37% to Rs 204.20) and Lloyd Electric (up 3.92% to Rs1329.40).
Titan Industries, Rajesh Exports, Gitanjali Gems and Lloyd Electric have weightages of 34.01%, 8.14%, 5.03% and 4.03%, respectively, in BSE Consumer Durable index.
The Consumer Durable index had risen 7.28% in the past one month to 26 June 2007 versus the Sensex's 0.72% gain. It had outperformed the market in the past three months, jumping 19.47% as against the Sensex's 12.55% appreciation.
The Consumer Durables (CD) Index had declined from 4,195.08 on 31 May 2007 to 3,843.75 on 13 June 2007. It had gained 8.32% from that low to 4,163.86 on 26 June 2007. It had hit a 52-week low of 2,473.10 on 24 July 2006.
