CMC leads gainers in 'A' group

CMC surged 13.33% to Rs 1,485 and topped gainers in BSE's ‘A’ group shares. CMC's net profit jumped 45.3% to Rs 64.10 crore in the year ended March 2007 (Rs 44.11 crore). Sales rose 19.3% to Rs 988.91 crore in FY 2007 (Rs 828.79 crore). The company announced the results on 16 April 2007.
Ramco System soared 9.97% to Rs 150 and stood second among top gainers in ‘A’ group. The company posted a net loss of Rs 32.20 crore in the year ended March 2007 (FY 2007) as against net loss of Rs 34.07 in FY 2006. Sales dipped 33.1% to Rs 78.57 crore in FY 2007 as against loss of Rs 117.47 crore in FY 2006. The company announced the results on 30 May 2007.
Rashtriya Chemicals & Fertilizers (RCF) spurted 6.17% to Rs 46.45 and came third among top gainers in ‘A’ group. As per media reports, RCF has planned a capital expenditure of Rs 10,000 crore for the next five years and it will consider tapping the capital market for raising funds.
Indian Overseas Bank gained 6.16% to Rs 134.40 and stood fourth among top gainers in ‘A’ group. The bank’s net profit rose 28.7% to Rs 1,008.43 crore in the year ended March 2007 as against Rs 783.34 crore in FY 2006. Operating income rose 25.7% to Rs 6,219.12 crore in FY 2007 (Rs 4,947.41 crore). The bank had announced the FY 2007 results on 23 April 2007.
Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilisers Company (GNFC) jumped 5.81% to Rs 119.20 and came fifth among top gainers in ‘A’ group. GNFC's net profit rose 10.8% to Rs 326.47 crore in the year ended March 2007 (Rs 294.72). Sales moved up 27.6% to Rs 2739.27 crore in FY 2007 (Rs 2147.57 crore). The company announced the results on 5 May 2007.
