FIIs continue buying

Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) bought shares worth a net Rs 699.60 crore on Thursday 12 July 2007. The inflow was at Rs 363.50 crore on Wednesday 11 July 2007.

FII inflow of Rs 699.60 crore on 12 July 2007 was a result of gross purchases Rs 3787.90 crore and gross sales Rs 3088.30 crore. The 30-shares BSE Sensex surged 181.42 points or 1.22% at 15,092.04 on that day.

FII inflow in the first few days in the month of July, till 12 July 2007, totaled Rs 14381.40 crore.

FIIs pumped in Rs 1643 crore in the month of June 2007. FII inflow totaled Rs 3959.70 crore in May 2007. The inflow was much higher at Rs 6679.20 crore in April 2007.

FII inflow for the calendar year 2007 stands at Rs 33,313.40 crore, till 12 July 2007. The inflow in the same period in calendar 2006 was Rs 12501.10 crore (till 12 July 2006).

There are a total of 1059 FIIs registered with Securities & Exchange Board of India (Sebi) as of now.
