Debutante Spice Communications tops volume on BSE

Tata Teleservices (Maharashtra), IKF Technologies, Zee Entertainment Enterprises and Nagarjuna Fertilisers and Chemicals follow.
11.71 crore shares were traded in the Spice Communications counter on BSE today. Spice Communications debuted on BSE today. The scrip ended at Rs 60.65, a premium of 31.84% over the IPO price of Rs 46.
The company had raised Rs 528 crore in an initial public offering (IPO), which closed on 27 June 2007. The IPO was oversubscribed more than 37 times. The IPO was priced at the top end of the Rs 41-Rs 46 price band.
Spice Communications will use around 50% of the total proceeds to retire part of its Rs 1,000-crore debt, while the remaining would be used for expansion plans.
Spice Communications reported net loss of Rs 41.80 crore on revenues of Rs 385.11 crore in the six months ended December 2006.
Tata Teleservices (Maharashtra) clocked the second highest volume of 1.13 crore shares on BSE. The share price rose 5.76% to Rs 29.40.
Tata Teleservices (Maharashtra) reported net loss of Rs 45.90 crore in Q4 March 2007, lower than a net loss of Rs 151.76 crore in Q4 March 2006. Sales rose 23.88% to Rs 380.43 crore in Q4 March 2007 over Q4 March 2006.
The company reported a net loss of Rs 310.61 crore in the year ended March 2007 (FY 2007) as against net loss of Rs 541.06 crore in the year ended March 2006 (FY 2006). Sales rose 28.48% to Rs 1406.98 crore in FY 2007 over FY 2006. The results were announced on 15 May 2007.
IKF Technologies clocked the third highest volume of 98.45 lakh shares on BSE. The share price declined 0.25% to Rs 8.
IKF Technologies announced on 27 June 2007 it had entered into a joint venture agreement with Salampuria Agrotech for undertaking bio fuel activity in the state of Jharkhand. The Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) has extended co-operation and it will provide necessary technical know-how to the company for Jatropha cultivation in different parts of North Eastern Himalayan Region.
The company’s board in a meeting held on 25 June 2007 did not recommend bonus issue. On 12 June 2007, the company had announced that the board would consider bonus issue on 25 June 2007.
IKF Technologies' net profit declined 85.60% to Rs 0.18 crore in Q4 March 2007 over Q4 March 2006. Sales declined 70.25% to Rs 4.90 crore in Q4 March 2007 over Q4 March 2006. The results were announced on 25 June 2007.
Zee Entertainment Enterprises clocked the fourth highest volume of 80.79 lakh shares on BSE. The share price rose 2.43% to Rs 334.55.
Net profit of Zee Entertainment Enterprises rose 311.15% to Rs 64.14 crore in Q1 June 2007 over Q1 June 2006. Sales declined 2.48% to Rs 224.43 crore in Q1 June 2007 over Q1 June 2006. The results were announced on 17 July 2007.
Nagarjuna Fertilisers and Chemicals clocked the fifth highest volume of 57.37 lakh shares on BSE. The share price rose 5.56% to Rs 24.70.
The derivative contracts in the Nagarjuna Fertilisers and Chemicals have crossed 95% of the market-wide position limit and it is in the ban period on NSE.
Nagarjuna Fertilizers & Chemicals' net profit declined 88.93% to Rs 1.86 crore in Q4 March 2007 over Q4 March 2006. Sales rose 20.24% to Rs 420.03 crore in Q4 March 2007 over Q4 March 2006. The results were announced on 27 April 2007.
