GMR Infrastructure leads gainers in ‘A’ group

Ramco Systems, Lanco Infratech, Hindalco and Reliance Energy are among the other gainers.
GMR Infrastructure rose 13.5% to Rs 951.65, a record closing high for the stock. It was the top gainer from BSE’s A group shares. The stock rose on huge volume of 48.7 lakh shares on BSE. On 10 July 2007, GMR Infrastructure bagged the tender for developing the Sabiha Gokcen International (SGA) airport in Istanbul, Turkey. SGA is the second airport in Istanbul besides Istanbul Ataturk airport.
Ramco Systems jumped 10% to Rs 165. It was the second biggest gainer from BSE’s A group shares. The scrip vaulted for the second day in a row today. It had spurted 10% to Rs 150 on Wednesday, 11 July 2007
Lanco Infratech gained 8.7% to Rs 251.25. It was the third biggest gainer from BSE’s A group shares. Lanco Infratech announced before market hours 9 July 2007, that the 500-mega watt (MW) (4x125) Teesta VI hydro power project being developed by Lanco Energy, a subsidiary of the company, in Sikkim has achieved financial closure. The project, estimated to cost Rs 3,000 crore, would be financed with a debt of Rs 2,400 crore and equity of Rs 600 crore.
Hindalco Industries advanced 7% to Rs 165.85 on hopes of consolidation of global aluminum industry. It was the fourth biggest gainer in A group. As per reports, Alcan Inc. is closer to arranging a friendly deal involving Rio Tinto as it fights a hostile $28.8-billion bid from Alcoa Inc.
Reliance Energy rose 6.8% to Rs 668.50. It was the fifth top gainer from BSE’s A group shares. The company recently said it would spend nearly Rs 60,000 crore over five years to add 15,000 megawatts of power capacity.
